About This Dog for Adoption
Mabel's ideal home
Mabel is a lovely 8-year-old girl who has spent her whole life in a home and truly appreciates the comforts of family life. She’s now looking for a peaceful, quiet home where she can enjoy her golden years in a peaceful home.
Mabel is fully housetrained and is happy to spend up to four hours alone, as long as she has her favourite radio station playing and a tasty kong to keep her busy. She would like a home with children aged 14+ who are calm, gentle, and able to give her the time and space she needs to settle in.
Mabel would prefer to be the only pet in the home, though she’s happy to meet calm doggy friends on her walks. She likes to take her time getting to know other dogs and prefers them not to crowd her space. She’s also been around horses with no issues.
Could you be Mabel's perfect match?
Don’t be fooled by her age, Mabel is still an active little lady who adores her walks, exploring new places, and taking in all the wonderful smells and sounds.
Due to her breed, Mabel will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. She’s quite content to be brushed and pampered, though she can be a little unsure of noisy clippers.
Mabel is ready to bring joy, companionship, and lots of love to her new forever family. Could that be you?
This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.
