Shadow
About This Dog
Shadow's ideal home
Shadow is a sweet, sensitive girl who will need adopters who are patient, kind and happy to let her build her confidence at her own pace. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and has been particularly unsure around some men, so her new family will need to give her time to get to know them. Regular visitors in the home are welcome, but they’ll need to meet Shadow a few times so she can build a relationship with them. Shadow has lived happily with another dog before and could potentially share her home with a suitable canine companion, subject to a successful introduction. She can also have doggy friends out and about! She would be best suited to a home with secondary school-aged children or above, as she can be quite excitable and takes a little time to warm up. Shadow knows some basic commands such as sit and down, but she’ll need her adopters to continue her training, particularly with recall and housetraining. She’s a clever girl who will benefit from patient, positive training and plenty of encouragement. Shadow would love access to an outdoor space where she can run around and have fun, whether that’s a secure private garden or a suitable communal area. She has previously been left for up to four hours, but her alone time should be built up gradually while she settles into her new home.
Could you be Shadow's perfect match?
Shadow is a gorgeous, affectionate girl who absolutely loves a fuss! Once she knows you, she’s happy to be handled, enjoys a good groom and is always pleased to spend time with her people. She can get very excited and have the zoomies, so she’ll be great fun for an active family who can give her plenty of exercise, enrichment and opportunities to explore! Shadow is a real foodie and loves her treats, although she can get a little overexcited and snatchy when taking them, so she would benefit from some ongoing attention here. She’s more interested in getting a fuss from her people than playing with toys at the moment, so expect plenty of cuddles. She has shown some hesitancy around new people and dogs, as well as unfamiliar vehicles, but she's shown that she recovers well from things that worry her and she would benefit from adopters who help her feel safe and confident. If you’re looking for a loving, lively companion and have the patience to help a slightly shy girl find her confidence, Shadow could be the perfect match. She has so much potential and will be a wonderful little character for the right family!
